Resolution
The attorney-client relationship starts with a consultation. In a privledged and confidential setting, the situation can be evaluated, issues can be identified, and options discussed.
Consultation
If appropriate and agreeable, the client and the attorney may enter into a written retainer agreement. The retainer agreement will define scope of services the attorney will provide to attempt to achieve the client's identified goals.
Representation
Client goals can be achieved in a variety of different ways. Often, the "parties agree to disagree," but can informally settle their differences. Sometimes, more formal processes, like arbitration or litigation, are required to reach final judgment.
Resolution
"Thank you for your professional demeanor. I enjoyed our conver- sations, which put me at ease with the situation."

"I do appreciate your assistance on this case. I want to thank you for your help and I do hope that the people at my former employer see some of the error of their ways and treat their employees a bit better."
"Afer the length of time the opposition delayed and their frame of mind, I was pleasantly surprised that you were able to negotiate a very satis- factory settlement."
